Riverside CG

Riverside Campground is located 15 miles north of Ashton, Idaho near beautiful Island Park, in a quiet area along the banks of Henry's Fork of the Snake River. Lodgepole pines provide partial shade, aspens dot the landscape, and summer wildflowers are abundant. Henry's Fork has great fly-fishing for rainbow and brook trout; tubing, canoeing, kayaking, and rafting are also popular on the river. Wildlife can be frequently spotted throughout the area. This campground has 55 single units, 1 double site and 1 group site. It provides drinking water and restrooms. It has a boat ramp, is a great fishing area and provides drinking water, restrooms and picnic tables.

General Information


From Ashton, ID travel north on Hwy 20 for 15 miles. Turn right on Riverside Campground Rd and go 1.2 miles.

General Notes:

Four miles north on Highway 20 the Mesa Falls Scenic Byway takes off to the right.  Upper and Lower Mesa Falls are located on the Mesa Falls Scenic Byway.  Boardwalks and viewing platforms give a spectacular panorama of the Upper Falls.  Mesa Falls Lodge is open during the summer months for infomation.  Books and trinkets are also available to buy.  The Mesa Falls Scenic Byway continues south to Ashton and rejoins Highway 20.

Three miles north on Highway 20 is Harriman State Park, a wildlife refuge featuring Blue Ribbon trout fishing (fly fishing, catch and release), trumpter swans, elk, moose and various waterfowl.  The park offeres hiking/bicycle trails, guidied tours of the historic ranch buildings, and a horseback riding concession.
