St. Charles Campground

St. Charles Campground is located in pretty St. Charles Canyon, adjacent to St. Charles Creek approximately three miles from Highway 89 and eight miles west of Bear Lake State Park and North Beach. Stands of aspens provide partial shade, and lodgepole pines, willows, dogwoods, Engelmann spruces, and wild roses dot the landscape. St. Charles Creek has good cutthroat trout fishing, and beautiful Bear Lake is nearby, with boating, waterskiing, fishing, swimming, and sightseeing.

General Information
Directions: Approximately 17 miles south of Montpelier, Idaho on Highway 89 is the small community of St. Charles, Idaho. On the north edge of St. Charles is the junction of Highway 89 and Forest Road #412, St. Charles Canyon. Turn west onto Forest Road #412 and travel approximately 3 miles to the forest boundary, go around the bend and you are at the entrance to St. Charles campground. Forest road #412 is a paved road and is not plowed for snow removal until late May or early June.Activities
