Opening of Wind Cave

This 2.7 mile trail is punctuated by waterfalls and open flowered meadows.  The well maintained trail is a popular choice for an easy day hike, and receives heavy use.  The trailhead is found by the foot bridge at the end of Darby Canyon road.

Directions: The South Darby trail begins at Road 60012 and ends at Wind Cave.

The Darby Wind Cave and Ice Cave are popular attractions along the trail.  Visitors can explore the opening of the Wind Cave or, for the experienced spelunker, venture deeper into the cave for more technical challenges.  For those looking for a cool place in the summer, the Ice Cave has frozen waterfalls and crystal formations.
