Castles National Landmark

Castles National Landmark is located in the Slim Buttes land unit in South Dakota. The Castles are a massive sandstone remnant which originated as a volcanic ash deposit and resemble a medieval castle. This natural wonder also serves as a habitat for one of North America's largest populations of Merlin falcons.

General Information
Directions: From Buffalo, SD take Hwy 20 approximately 20 miles to Forest Road 3126. Turn right into Reva Gap Campground. The south end of the campground has an information board and a nice view of Castles National Landmark.Activities
