Beartrap Trail (# 95)

  

Beartrap Trail (# 95) is 7.1 miles long. The trail begins at the Bridger Trailhead on Forest Road 1176 and ends at Bad Canyon Trail (# 94). Approximately 2 miles from the trailhead, you must turn left to continue on Beartrap Trail (# 95). Continuing to walk straight will take you onto Trout Creek Trail (# 29).  After you climb, follow the rock cairns until the trail dead-ends into Bad Canyon Trail (# 94). Elevation change: 600 feet. The trail is open for the following uses: Hiking, Mountain Biking, Horseback Riding.

Directions:

The trail begins at the Bridger Trailhead and ends at the intersection of Bad Canyon Trail, after 6.9 miles.

Directions to Bridger TH from the district office:
Drive north on US Hwy 212 towards Red Lodge for 2.1 miles and turn left (west) onto MT-78. Drive 32.8 miles to the town of Absarokee. Turn left (west) onto MT-420. Drive 6.9 miles and turn right onto Spring Creek Rd. Drive 1.7 miles and turn right onto Stockade Rd. In 5.6 miles, this road changes names to Bridger Rd. Continue another 5 miles and turn left onto Forest Road 1176. Drive approximately 2 miles to the parking turnout on your left (south).
