Sheltowee Trace Trail #100 Section 11

Area Status: Open
This area is Open

This section of the Sheltowee Trace, located on Cumerbland Ranger District, begins at KY 1274 and ends at KY 460, following gravel, dirt and two-lane paved roads through rural and agricultural scenery its entire length. The trail is level except where it ascends to the head of Clifton Creek and joins County Road 1242.

The trail along Clifton Creek passes through an area reported to contain several natural features described in the famous John Swift journal. In the summer, a variety of plants can be observed in the wide Clifton Creek bottom. Tulip poplar, maples and dogwoods abound.

The trail continues south from the intersection of US 460 and KY 77.
