Yahoo Arch Trail #602

Yahoo Arch Trail, located on Stearns District of the Daniel Boone National Forest, begins at KY 700 and ends at Sheltowee Trace National Recreation Trail, Section 32. From the trailhead, follow the old road along the ridgetop. After 1/2-mile, the trail begins to descend. Stairs with railings mark your approach to Yahoo Arch. Turn left and follow along the base of the cliff. At one mile, you will have reached Yahoo Arch.

The arch has a height of 17 feet and a base of 70 feet. Also notice the smaller arch on your left. You may either retrace your steps to KY 700 or continue on to the Yahoo Falls Day Use Area and other connecting trails.

Yahoo Falls Scenic Area is part of the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area, which is managed by the National Park Service. 

Picnic tables and accessible flush toilets are located at the scenic area. This area is open all year.

Directions:

From US 27 in Whitley City, take KY 700 west. Follow KY 700 approximately 3 miles. The trailhead is on the right.


Parking:

Parking is available at the Yahoo Falls Scenic Area. Limited parking is available at the trail junction with KY 700.
