Cliff Trail #206


Area Status: Open

Cliff Trail #206 follows the edge of a high cliff near Koomer Ridge Campground. Hikers will enjoy scenic overlooks along the trail. It's a fairly easy, level walk. Parking for this traik is at the backpackers parking lot 634B on the left as you enter. This trail is located in the Red River Gorge on Cumberland District of the Daniel Boone National Forest.

Passes: No fee for trail use. All vehicles on KY 15 or in the Red River Gorge and Indian Creek area north of KY 15 must display a recreation permit for backcountry camping between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. $5/day; $7/3 days; $50/annual pass. Recreation Passes and Permits

General Information

Directions:

Traveling east on the Mountain Parkway, take exit 33 at Slade. Turn left and then right onto KY 15. Travel east 4.9 miles to the Koomer Ridge Campground on the left. Take the left fork in campground and park in the backpackers parking lot 634B on the left.


Parking:

Parking is available for hikers at the backpackers parking area.
