This section of the Sheltowee Trace National Recreation Trail is located on Cumberland Ranger District. It begins on KY 460 and continues to KY 715 at the suspension bridge. The trail winds through the forest with mostly pine-hardwood on the ridges. Huge beech and oak trees tower over a dense rhododendron understory from Salt Fork Branch to Gladie Creek. Part of the trail is within the Clifty Wilderness.
