Fishing Point Trail #442

Fishing Point Trail #442 is located near Grove Drive-In Campground on Laurel River Lake. Laurel River Lake is located on London Ranger District and features 5,600 acres of clear, deep water and nearly 200 miles of tree-lined shore.

This short loop trail provides access to Laurel River Lake from Grove Drive-In Campground. Two lakeside benches provide hikers with a place to rest along the way. The trail provides access to several walk-in campsites. The trail begins and ends at the C-loop parking area of Grove Campground. The parking area is open during the campground open season, April - November.

Grove Drive-In Campground, a US Fee Area, is located on a wooded ridge above Laurel River Lake. Grove Marina is a full-service marina located within 1/2-mile of the campground. The marina is operated under a special-use permit with the U.S. Forest Service. The marina is open year round.

General Information


From I-75, take exit 25 and travel west on US 25 for 5 miles. Turn right on KY 1193. Go 2 miles. Turn right on Forest Service Road 558. Go 3 miles to Grove Recreation Area.


This trail does not meet accessibility standards for persons with disabilities. 


Parking is available at Grove Campground C-loop parking area (April - November).
