Round Lake Trailhead

From Round Lake Trailhead, the Round Lake Trail climbs westward to the junction with the Old Summit Trail (aka Summit Lake Trail #4014) at Square Lake.

This trailhead enters the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness. Wilderness Permits are required; see "Permit Info" below.

Permit Info: There are two types of entry permits required between June 15 and October 15 for entering the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness from this trailhead.

  • Pamelia Lake – No camping within 100 feet of high-water mark of lake or any other water source
  • Campfires are prohibited above 5,700 feet and within these lake basins:
    • Marion Lake
    • Ann Lake
    • Table Lake
  • Motorized and mechanical equipment (including bicycles and drones) are prohibited in the Wilderness
  • Groups must be under 12 people and 12 head of stock
  • Build campfires at least 100 feet away from water
  • Pack in / Pack out!
  • “Take only pictures, leave only footprints” — please refrain from cutting, damaging, or gathering vegetation or other forest items (e.g. rocks, artifacts, etc.)
  • Please bury human waste 6-8 inches deep and at least 200 feet away from water
