Whitefish Campsite

This Horse Camp is located next to Whitefish Creek at the west end of Crescent Lake.  It is adjacent to the Diamond Peak Wilderness and Oregon Cascades Recreation Area and offers horseback riding and hiking opportunities.
A trailhead located inside the campground accesses Diamond Peak Wilderness and Diamond Lake Trail. Check out a map of this campground here.

Horse campgrounds have been designed to accommodate people who need to corral their horses.   We have a limited number of these kinds of campgrounds and ask, out of courtesy and safety for you and the horses, to please consider camping elsewhere if you do not have a horse.   We have many campgrounds nearby.

Horse Camping

Whitefish Horse Campground has nice large sites with double or quadruple metal corrals. Non horse campers need to be aware that these sites are meant for campers with horses, so please be courteous. There are a lot more sites in the forest that can't take horses than there are ones that can take them. The sites in the campground should be able to accommodate your RV and horse trailer and perhaps another vehicle as well. There is a pressurized water system.  Each site has a picnic table and firepit. There is a place to gather your manure for later disposal by us. Campers are expected to shovel manure into feed sacks and place them next to the road so that maintenance people can pick them up. Firewood is not provided, but can be gathered from the nearby forest.
