Paulina Lake Day Use Area

Located on Paulina Lake, this area has a picnic site, a trailhead to Paulina Lakeshore Trail, and a boat launch.  This site is adjacent to a campground.

There is a 10 mph speed limit on Paulina Lake.

Recreation Fee Site: Parking at this site requires a recreation pass. Passes are NOT available at this site, but can be purchased from Forest Service offices or vendors. Please check here for more information about recreation passes and where they can be purchased.

  • Interagency Annual Pass
  • Interagency Senior Pass (America the Beautiful, Golden Age)

Directions:

From Bend, OR: Travel south on Highway 97 for 23.5 miles, then turn left (head east) on Paulina Lake Road/County Road 21 for 12 miles. This site is directly across from the Paulina Visitor Center.

Several interpretive signs provide information on the local flora and fauna of Newberry. You can also access the Paulina Lakeshore Trail, a 7 mile hiking trail.
