Crater Rim Trail

This trail is within the Newberry National Volcanic Monument and can be accessed from the Peak Trailhead, Cinder Hill Trailhead or Paulina Day Use Site. It is a difficult 21 mile round trip trail and provides the ultimate destination for high country trails for this area. 
Those requiring parking for backpacking should use the Peak Trailhead which is located at the base of the Paulina Peak road ascent or the Crater Trailhead which is on county road 21 just past the East Lake RV Park.  Display a valid recreation pass where ‘recreation fee required’ is posted.
