Deschutes River Trail
A series of three parallel trails winds through pine forests, lava flows and riparian zones along the variously placid and tumultuous waters of the Deschutes River. Low snow years can allow year-round use for most of this trail.
This trail can be accessed from Meadow Day Use Area, as well as the following day use areas along Forest Road 41-Lava Island, Big Eddy, Aspen, Dillon Falls, Slough, Benham Falls West, and Benham Falls East. The Deschutes River Trail can also be accessed from the town of Sunriver.
Recreation Fee Site: Parking at this site requires a recreation pass. Passes are NOT available at this site, but can be purchased from Forest Service offices or vendors. Please check here for more information about recreation passes and where they can be purchased.

General Information
Directions:This trail is accessed from many places including Meadow Day Use Area and several day use areas off of Forest Road 41. Access is also available from the Benham East Day Use Area and Sunriver.
Activities
Mountain Biking
Biking is prohibited on certain sections of the hiker trail.
Day Hiking
Separate trails were built for hikers, horses, and bicycles. Cyclists also share most of the hiking trail nearest the river, as long as conflicts are minimized.
Horse Riding
Horses are prohibited on certain sections of the hiker trail.
