King Creek Campground

King Creek Campground is situated in a ponderosa pine forest, adjacent to Tropic Reservoir and the East Fork of the Sevier River. It is approximately 9 miles west of Bryce Canyon National Park. Access is provided by an improved gravel road. This campground provides paved sidewalks at select sites to provide improved accessibility.

Kings Creek is a favorite of ATV enthusiasts because of its easy access to a large network of trails. The Fremont ATV trail passes within 1/4 mile of the campground and the Great Western Trail is nearby. Hiking and mountain biking trails are plentiful as well, with access from various points within the campground. Tropic Reservoir offers boating, canoeing and fishing for brook, rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout. A boat ramp is within 1/2-mile of the the campground. The East Fork Sevier River is nearby with good fishing opportunities. OHVs are allowed for ingress and egress to campsites.

King Creek Trail and Chimney Rock Trail are accessible from inside the campground. They both have great views of Hoodoos from the bottom and the top. They also have beautiful overviews of Tropic Reservoir.

There are six OHV loop trails that are accessible from the campground. These loops are a part of the Paunsaugunt OHV Trail System.

The campground offers two group sites, which can be reserved separately or together. The group area is isolated from the main campground and provides privacy for gatherings and events. All individual sites are managed on a first come, first served basis. A large covered pavilion with picnic tables is also included with the group site to provide shade and cover from the weather. Flush toilets and drinking water are provided. The campground and reservoir are reached via a well-maintained gravel road with good access for cars and RVs alike.

Directions:

This campground is located 7 miles from SR 12 on the East Fork Road No. 087. Turn on road No. 572 at the sign for King Creek Campground. Follow this road around Tropic Reservoir. The campground is located on the west side.
