Small Game Hunting

Many hunters enjoy the simplicity of a small-game hunt. It doesn't require detailed scheming or early alarm clocks and can often be enjoyed as part of a simple trip through the forest with one or two friends or family members.

Small game is everywhere. It's an active hunt that helps hunters refine their skills. It's a challenge to walk through the woods with stealth to spot small game before it spots you. It requires getting in touch with your senses and if you can't hear the birds chirping, chances are you're not being stealthy enough.

And, at the end of the day, you might just have something tasty for dinner!

Hunting on the Osceola National Forest is regulated by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). Information on quota permits, hunting with dogs, bag and possession limits, camping during general gun season and permit, stamp and license requirements are available on the FWC website Brochure Detail (floridamarine.org).
