Mountain Lakes Trailhead
Provides access to: Mountain Lakes Wilderness via Mountain Lakes Trail.
Located 50 minutes northwest of Klamath Falls, Oregon, this rustic trailhead has no restroom facilities and limited parking. Campgrounds can be found nearby at Lake of the Woods.
Horseback riders are advised to ride from Lake of the Woods on the connector trail to the trailhead. Hiking and riding opportunities include an 8.2 Mountain Lakes Loop Trail, which winds along the southern tip of the caldera and connects to three trails in the interior of the wilderness: Clover Creek travels 4.3 miles from the south, Mountain Lakes Trail travels 6.3 miles from the west, and Varney Creek Trail travels 4.4 miles from the North.
No potable water at the trailhead. Visitors need to pack plenty of water.

Directions:From Klamath Falls:
Mountain Lakes Trailhead is located 45 minutes west of Klamath Falls, Oregon.
From Klamath Falls, OR take Oregon Highway 140 west toward Medford, Oregon, for approximately 31 miles and then turn left onto Dead Indian Memorial Road. From Dead Indian Memorial Road, turn left onto Forest Service (FS) Road 3610 and then right onto FS Road 3662 and the destination will be on your right.
From Medford:
Mountain Lakes Trailhead is located one hour east of Medford, Oregon.
From Medford, tOR ake Oregon Highway 140 east toward Klamath Falls, Oregon, for approximately 44 miles and then turn right onto Dead Indian Memorial Road. From Dead Indian Memorial Road, turn left onto Forest Service (FS) Road 3610 and then right onto FS Road 3662 and the destination will be on your right.
