The Rye Spur trail is 6.2 miles long primarily used by horseback riders and mountain bikers north of Lake of the Woods. Designed as a pack and saddle trail with higher clearing limits and wider turns, it cuts through a dense and shady mixed conifer forest, allowing glimpses of deer and birds. It travels south from Fourmile Lake to Highway 140 at Lake of the Woods. Billie Creek Nature Trail loops off the Rye Spur Trail close to Highway 40 exploring a section of Billie Creek for hikers. 

The trail is open for the following uses: Hiking, Mountain Biking, Horseback Riding
