Sno-Park: Orr Creek

In a mature and varied forest setting interspersed with mountain meadows and geographic features, this park is near Mt. Adams Wilderness. Here visitors will find access to trails leading to remote forest lakes and high-mountain elevations.

Current Conditions: 04/12/2021: Sno-park pass no longer required for the remainder of winter season. Trails are no longer being groomed and roads no longer plowed however area is still open for winter recreation.
Permit Info: Washington State Sno-Park Permit is required for each vehicle December 1 to March 31. Sno-Park permits are available to purchase online and also at Ashford Valley Grocery in Ashford, Trout Lake Grocery in Trout Lake and the Chelatchie Prairie General Store in Amboy. Sno-park permits help pay for snow removal, trail grooming, sanitation facilities, mapping, trail signs, safety education, enforcement and program administration.

Restrictions: Motorized vehicles are not allowed in the nearby Goat Rocks and Mt. Adams Wilderness areas. Violations of 36 CFR 261 may result in confiscation of equipment, fines up to $5,000.00, and/or six months in jail. Wilderness Regulations apply within designated Wilderness.

General Information


From Randle, WA head south on Highway 131 (Cispus Road) to Forest Road 23 to Forest Road 21, to Forest Road 56, to Forest Road 5603. Orr Creek Sno-Park is 26 miles from Randle. You will encounter paved roads, chip-sealed roads and a short section of gravel.

Forest Road 23 is plowed by Lewis County to the junction with Forest Road 28. The rest of the road system to Orr Creek is plowed by the Forest Service, using funds provided through the State Parks and Recreation Commission. Roads are normally plowed prior to the weekend and as needed during the week.


This site is in a remote forest setting. The parking area is flat, but terrain will be difficult, especially in winter.
