This trail is open to motorcycles, hikers, horses and bicycles.

This trail begins in Big Creek Campground and climbs steeply through a moderately dense forest. The trail passes through a harvest area and climbs to the south side of Osborne Mountain. The trail is cut by a switchback from Forest Road 8410 (at mile 4). Continuing southeast, the trail skirts a timber harvest area and ends on Teeley Creek Trail #251 near Pothole Lake (Lower Bertha May Lake). Features include Osborne Mountain, views of Mt. Rainier, the Nisqually River Valley, and Pothole Lake.

Special Conditions: No motorized use March 1 to June 30. Not recommended for bicycles.

The campground is closed and gated from mid-September through mid-May. Access to the trail during this time is from the campground entrance road on Forest Road 52.

Directions:

Trail begins Big Creek Campground.

From Ashford, Washington travel east on State Highway 706 for approximately 2.5 miles and turn right onto Forest Road 52 (Kernahan Road). Follow Forest Road 52 for 1.9 miles and arrive at the campground on your right.
