This trail begins adjacent to Takh Takh Meadows off Forest Road 2329, or from Takhlakh Loop Trail #134. Takh Takh Meadow (a Taidnapam/Yakama word meaning "small prairie) is rich with wildflowers during the summer.

From the meadow, the trail climbs a lava flow offering views of Mt. Adams, the Goat Rocks and Mt. Rainier. The trail drops back down into a conifer forest and loops back to its junction with Takhlakh Loop Trail #134. An interpretive sign is located at the base of the lava flow, providing insights into the age and origin of the flow.
