On a clear day, this site offers stunning views of the south side of Mount St. Helens and the surrounding area. The parking area and viewing platforms are paved and flat. In the video it's at about 3:10.

Current Conditions: Beautiful, distant view of the southeast side (non-crater side) of Mount St. Helens on a clear day.
Operational Hours: In winter, Curly Creek Road, the access to McClellan Viewpoint, can be snow covered. It is plowed by Skamania County. To check road conditions in winter, please call Skamania County Road Department at (509) 427-3900.

Directions:

From Carson, Washington drive north on the Wind River Highway/Forest Road 30. Continue north on Forest Road 30 to Curley Creek Road. Turn left onto Curley Creek Road and continue to the Observation Site which is well signed.
