Current Conditions: 6/15/2021: Trail cleared until junction with trail #76 approximately 2 and a half  miles into trail. For current information, contact Cowlitz Valley Ranger District at 360-497-1100.

Permit Info: Wilderness permits are required for entry into all Gifford Pinchot National Forest Wilderness areas. The self-issuing permits are free and are available at all trailheads leading into these Wildernesses, and at Forest Service Ranger Stations.

General Information


From Packwood, WA take US-12 East for 6 miles then turn right onto Forest Road 46. Follow Forest Road 46 for .6 miles then take a left to stay on Forest Road 46 and follow it for another 7.5 miles to the trailhead.
