Castle Lake Viewpoint Observation Site

4/16/21 Snow at Castle Lake Viewpoint

Views of Mount St. Helens, Castle Lake, and the landslide debris deposit from the eruption of Mount St. Helens in 1980. There are benches, interpretive signs, ample parking, and a short trail available.

Operational Hours: Castle Lake Viewpoint is open year-round, but may occassionally be inaccessible due to lack of snow-plowing.

From Castle Rock, WA drive east on State Route 504 for 40 miles. Parking area will be on the right hand side of the road.
