Forest Road 99 accesses Windy Ridge interpretive site and recreation trails on the east side of Mount St Helens.

It meets Forest Road 25 near Wakepish Sno-park, running to Windy Ridge and other Spirit Lake overlooks past places such as Bear Meadow Viewpoint, Miner's Car, Meta Lake and Cascade Peaks.

This is one of the most popular destinations on the Forest and Monument, with enough to see and do to fill more than a full day.

At a Glance

Current Conditions: Forest Road 99 gated for the winters season just past Wakepish Sno-Park. The 99 Road is between 3,500 and 4,000 feet in elevation. Restrooms open at Wakepish Sno-Park near the beginning of the 99 road. A Washington State Sno-Park Permit is required to park at Wakepish Sno-Park, and is not available on-site.
Operational Hours: Forest Road 99 is gated for the winter just past Wakepish Sno-Park. Road usually reopens toward the end of June. No overnight camping allowed.
Fees A Northwest Forest Pass or Amercia the Beautiful Pass required for recreation site use. Fee tubes for payment on-site at Bear Meadow, Meta Lake or Windy Ridge CLOSED for the winter season.
Usage: Medium-Heavy
Passes: A Washington State Sno-Park Permit is required to park at Wakepish Sno-Park and not available on-site.
