Area Status: Open

This trail is open to motorcycles, hikers, horses and bicycles.

This 4.4 mile trail follows Kraus Ridge through dense old growth and offers views of the Cispus River Valley and Tower Rock.

Beginning on Forest Road 2306, this trail crosses Forest Road 2506 and ends on Forest Road 2506.037. The trail was named after William Kraus, a prospector and homesteader in the area before 1905. It is usually a good early season hike.

Special Conditions: Closed to motorized use from December 1 to April 1.

General Information

Directions:

Trail is off Forest Road 2306 and ends on Road 2506.037.

From Randle, Washington travel south on State Highway 131 (Forest Roads 23 and 25). Veer left in 1 mile at the Y of Forest Road 23 and Forest Road 25. Follow Forest Road 23 for about 4.5 miles. Go right on Forest Road 2306 and follow for less than a mile to the trail access.
