Trail #156 Wildcat

Area Status: Closed

The 2.5 mile Wildcat Trail begins at its intersection with Siouxon Trail #130, about 4.5 miles east from the new location of the Siouxon Trailhead on Forest Road 5701. Here the trail fords Siouxon Creek, which can be 2 to 3 feet deep during periods of high water. The trail climbs a steep and rocky grade for 0.5 mile past the base of Wildcat Falls before continuing to climb to a viewpoint above the 75-foot cascading waterfall. Climbing Wildcat Ridge, the trail gains over 2,000 feet in elevation before ending at Huffman Peak Trail #129. At this point you can head east and south on Huffman Peak Trail #129 to meet the Siouxon Trail near Forest Road 5701 to complete a loop.

Alert: This trail is within the Big Hollow Fire (2020) burned area. Hikers travel at their own risk. Please review safety tips for burned areas.
