Table Mountain Trail #18 climbs steadily through forests and past grassy meadows with numerous ponds. It provides good opportunities to see wildlife.

From Boundary Trail #1 the Table Mountain Trail #18 descends through an area of meadows, ponds, and scattered forest. The ponds along this route are home to frogs and early season mosquitoes. Please stay on the trail. Road 9091-020 is reached after 1.5 miles. There are four more road crossings before Forest Road 90 is reached, 4 miles from the Boundary Trail.

From Forest Road 90 the trail continues southeast for about another mile to meet Forest Road 23. Across Forest Road 23, Riley Camp Trail #64 continues east into Mt Adams Wilderness.

Please practice Leave No Trace principles. Meadows are fragile, please stay on the trail.

Access from Forest Road 90:

From Cougar, Washington drive east on Highway 503 to the Forest Boundary where it becomes Forest Road 90. Continue east on Forest Road 90 past Twin Falls Campground to the trailhead about a mile past the campground.

Cabin Rentals

When roads are snow-free, you can reach the cabin by car. During the winter, a trip to the cabin on skis or snowshoes will take you about ten minutes from parking. The cabin is within easy walking distance of Trapper Creek Wilderness and less than an hour's drive to Indian Heaven Wilderness and the Mt. St Helens National Volcanic Monument (area is unavailable) and the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, conveniently located for day trips.

Brown and Brook trout in Soda Peaks Lake, June through September, as well as additional spots in Trapper Creek Wilderness.

Nearby fishing opportunities include Spring Chinook fishing on the Wind River (below Carson National Fish Hatchery), approximately April - June.

Day Hiking

The cabin is within easy walking distance of Trapper Creek Wilderness and less than an hour's drive to Indian Heaven Wilderness and the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail #2000 (during the summer months).
