Current Conditions: 11/29/23: Bridge washout area approximate 1/4 mile up on Forest Road 2140, estimated three miles on foot to reach trailhead. Some areas within the Goat Rocks Wilderness are higher elevations which can receive fall snow as early as late September. Always check the local forecast before setting off on your hike and have a plan B. 
Permit Info: Wilderness permits are required to enter Goat Rocks Wilderness. The self-issuing permits are free and are available at trailheads and Forest Service Ranger Stations.

Directions:

From Packwood, WA travel on US-12 W for 2.7 mi and turn left onto Forest Road 21, stay on Forest Road 21 for about 9 miles. Then take make a slight left on Forest Road 2140 and travel 1.5 miles and continue on to Forest Road 2142.
