Trailhead: Tatoosh South

Area Status: Open

Provides access to: Trail #161 Tatoosh within the Tatoosh Wilderness.

Hikers only. Parking space is limited at the trailhead. Forest Road 5290 is gated and closed 3.1 miles below the trailhead from December 1st- April 1st for big game winter range.

  • Pack and Saddle stock are prohibited on the Tatoosh Lakes Trail #161B due to the steep grades and poor condition of the trail. 
  • Stock are prohibited within Tatoosh Lakes Basin.

Directions:

From Packwood, WA travel north on Forest Road 52 for .8 miles and turn right on Forest Road 5290 (Canon Road). Follow Forest Road 5290 for 8.4 miles and arrive at the trailhead. Forest Road 5290 is gated and closed 3.1 miles below the trailhead from December 1st- April 1st for big game winter range.
