Sno-Park: Flattop

The Snow Park provides assess to 154 miles of groomed snowmobile trails and is used primarily by snowmobilers. The trails lead to remote forest and scenic high elevations lakes. There is a good view of Mt. Adams from the Snow Park.  It has a warming shelter with wood stove and picnic tables. The parking area accommodates 70 vehicles.

In a mature and varied forest setting with mountain meadows and geographic features, this site is near the Mt. Adams Wilderness. Visitors will find access to trails leading to remote forest lakes, high-mountain elevations.

Permit Info: Washington State Sno-Park permits are required Dec 1 to March 31.  Permits are also available for purchase at the Cowlitz Valley Ranger Station, Mt. Adams Ranger Station, and the Chelatchie Prairie General Store in Amboy.
  • Sno-park permits help pay for snow removal, trail grooming, sanitation facilities, mapping, trail signs, safety education, enforcement and program administration.

Restrictions: Motorized vehicles are not allowed in nearby Mt. Adams or Indian Heaven Wilderness areas. Violations of 36 CFR 261 may result in confiscation of equipment, fines up to $5,000.00, and/or six months in jail.

General Information

Directions:

From Stevenson, WA, take State Route 14 east to Highway 141, then north to Forest Road 88. Sno-Park is approximately 6 miles NW of Trout Lake at junction of Forest Roads 88 and 8821.


Accessibility:

This site is in a remote forest setting. The parking area is flat, but terrain will be difficult, especially in winter.
