Juniper Campground is Quemado Ranger District's most popular campground. It offers full RV hookups, leveled tent sites, and easy lake access. Maximum RV size is 35'.

Closed for the season. Anticipated reopening May 7, 2021
Operational Hours:
The Juniper Campground will be closing for the season on September 8, 2020 at 8:00 a.m. We anticipate this site reopening Mother's Day weekend 2021, possibly without water. The campground will then close Monday, September 27, 2021.
Reservations:
All Gila NF campgrounds have a 14 day stay limit. The seven electrical sites will be available for reservations on April 1, 2021 on Recreation.gov. All remaining sites will be on a first-come/first-serve basis.
There are 17 single family/tent sites and the fee is $10 per day. There is one double site available for $16 per day. There are 17 RV sites with hookups and the fee is $15 per day, and as of April 1, 2021 will be reservable on Recreation.gov. These sites can accommodate a 35' RV. America the Beautiful Interagency Senior and Access Passes are honored for 1/2 off on camping fees.

There is a 14 day stay limit on all campgrounds on the Gila National Forest and the portion of the Apache Forest located in New Mexico.
OHV/ATV use is prohibited in the Quemado Lake Recreation Area.
Hunting and target shooting is prohibited in the recreation area.
All dogs must be on a leash at all times in the campground.
No tents are allowed in the RV loop.
Horses are prohibited in the Quemado Lake Recreation Area. There is a throwdown area outside the recreation area at El Caso Throwdown.
The campground is located just west of Quemado, NM, take NM 32 south 14.2 miles to Quemado Lake/NM 103 sign. At sign turn left onto NM 103 and go 4 miles to where Forest Road 13 (gravel) begins. Continue straight on FR 13 for 1 mile to campground sign. Turn right into campground.
There are 18 tent sites available on a first come, first served basis. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring/bbq grill.
