Pinon Campground Site

This is a nice, quiet and clean campground nestled among piñon and juniper trees.

The camp sites are nestled among mature piñon and juniper trees. It is tranquil and undiscovered with a few sites having a view of Quemado Lake. The campground is comprised of a family camping loop (east side) and a group camping loop (west side). All group sites are closed.

Restrictions: There is a 14 day stay limit for all campgrounds on the Gila NF.  Fires permitted only in fire rings provided.  All pets must be on leash, except within an enclosed area.

Quemado is 21 miles from the campground. There is nowhere in Quemado to purchase a fishing license.



Just west of Quemado, NM, take NM 32 south 14.2 miles to Quemado Lake/NM 103 sign. At sign turn left onto NM 103 and go 4 miles to where Forest Road 13 (gravel) begins. Continue straight on FR 13 for 1.4 miles to campground sign. Turn left into campground.

Campground Camping

There are 23 developed tent sites each with picnic tables and fire rings/bbq grills.  The tent sites are available on a first come, first served basis and there is a $10/day fee.  The sites have level gravel pads.

RV Camping

Some sites are large enough for self contained RVs up to 35 feet.  RV dump station is available at the entrance to the campground (Friday before Mother's Day to September 30). Dump fee is $5.00.
