This trail offers high elevations close to Silver City.

The Tadpole Ridge trail traverses 8.5 miles of mixed conifer forests at elevations of over 8,500 feet. The trail is a popular route for hikers, equestrians and mountain bikers due to its proximity to Silver City and the fact that the trailhead is accessed by a paved road (NM Hwy 15). The trail is maintained yearly, but old forest fires along the route continue to plague the trail with blowdown and erosion.
