Weir & Johnson Campground - Grand Valley RD


Area Status: Closed

At 10,500-foot elevation. 11 campsites. Maximum spur length is 33 ft. The campground is a single loop located between the Weir & Johnson and Sackett Reservoirs. The trees are primarily Engelmann spruce. Some sites overlook one or the other reservoir.

The mosquitoes are plentiful; repellent is recommended.

Fees: $14 per night per camping unit; $10 per firewood bundle; $4 per day for day use/picnic. If occupying a campsite for day use/picnic, the $4 per day fee is applicable from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. If still occupying a campsite after 2 p.m., the $14 fee for per night camping unit will apply, less any day use fees already paid.

General Information

Directions:

From Collbran, CO, at "Access Grand Mesa" sign, take County Road 58 south 1.9 miles. Turn left at the "T" for 5.8 miles to Forest Road #521. Note: County Road 58 Road becomes County Road 59 Road. Continue straight on Forest Road #521 for about 7.2 miles to junction with Forest Road #126. Turn left at Weir and Johnson Campground sign and go 2.8 miles to the campground.
