Fox Creek #249

The Fox Creek Trail #249 begins at the forest boundary on Forest Service Road 858 near the Big Cimarron Campground and ends at an intersection with the Lou Creek Trail #222, however, at this time it is split into two separate sections. The trail follows the Fish Creek Reservoir Trail #224 for the first approximately 0.5 miles, stay to the left to continue on the Fox Creek Trail. The trail climbs steeply before leveling off to a more gradual ascent. After passing a knob the trail will enter a large meadow at approximately 1.5 miles, here this section of the trail ends.  The other section of the trail is best reached by Forest Service Road #858.3I at the Silver Jack Reservoir Overlook. At the end Overlook, follow the Cowboy Lake Trail #244 for approximately 0.6 miles to the Lou Creek Trail #222. Follow the Lou Creek Trail for approximately 0.5 miles to the intersection with the Fox Creek Trail. At this end, the trail is a two track until it crosses Fox Creek.
