Mount Tilton Spur #582.1A

  

The Mt. Tilton Spur Trail #582.1A begins at the Mt. Tilton Trail #582 and ends at the Crystal Creek Trail #583.  It serves as a connection short cut between these two trails.  A loop can be accomplished by combining the Mt. Tilton Trail #582, Mt. Tilton Spur Trail #852.1A, Crystal Creek Trail #583, Brush Creek Trail #400 and the Taylor Divide Trail #440.  These trails will provide spectacular views of the surrounding 13,000 feet mountain peaks.

Directions:

Mt. Tilton Trailhead:

From Gunnison, travel north on Highway 135 for approximately 10 miles to Almont and the intersection with Taylor River Road, County Road 742.  Follow CR 742 for approximately 43 miles, around Taylor Reservoir, to its end and the Mt. Tilton Trailhead.  Follow the Mt. Tilton Trail #582 for approximately 2 miles to the intersection with the Mt. Tilton Spur Trail #582.1A.

Mt. Tilton Trailhead:  T. 13S., R. 84W., Section 27.  U.S.G.S. Map: Pearl Pass.  Elevation: 10,789 feet.
