Point Camp #725


The Point Camp Trail #725 travels through oakbrush, snowberry, intermittent aspen stands and open meadows.  Spectacular views of the West Elks, San Juan’s and Gunnison Valley can be enjoyed from this trail.  It travels at a fairly level grade and crosses several creeks.  Eventually it comes to an end at the Pipeline Road, FSR #110.  The Point Camp Trail receives most of its use in the fall during the big game hunting seasons.

General Information



From Delta, turn east off of Hwy 50 onto H-38 road and travel until you reach 1575 road. Turn north on 1575 and travel for approximately 1.2 miles. Turn onto the Devils Thumb Road and travel 3.3 miles. Take West Pipeland Road for 9.9 miles.  This is a very rocky section of road and four wheel drive, high clearance vehicles are recommended.  This will take you to the BLM/Forest Service boundary where the road becomes Doughspoon Road, FSR #112.  Travel for about six miles to FSR #112.2B and follow it for about another mile to the Point Camp Trailhead. 


The Eastern Trailhead is located off of the old Pipeline Road, FSR #110.2 approximately 0.5 miles south of the Bluegrouse and the Bull and Brown Trailheads.
