Trout Lake #743

The Trout Lake Trail #743 serves as a connecting route between the Eureka Trail #734 and the Trickel Park Road, FSR #121.  The trail also provides access to Trout Lake and Elk Park Reservoir.  The trail begins near the Cabin Reservoir outlet and climbs toward the dam on the reservior.  It travels along the reservior at a level grade until it enters a spruce/fir stand where it can be marshy along the lakes edge.  The trail continure to climb in dense spruce/fir until it reaches Elk Park Reservoir where it breaks out of the trees into a large meadow.  At the end of the dam it reemters a stand of spruce/fir above the lake before breaking out into another meadow that tends to be marshy.  The trail descends through the  meadow, crosses a stream and reaches a graveled pull-out area along Trickel Park Road.  It ends when it reaches the intersection with Trickle Park Road just north of Elk Park Reservoir.
