Glen Alton is a 304-acre property in Giles County that was a working farm until the 1980`s. Majestic trees, open pastures and picturesque buildings create a pastoral setting that invites wandering. This day use area features picnic tables, hiking trails, and wildlife watching opportunities. Nearby area highlights include White Rocks Campground, Potts Rail Trail, Big Stony Creek, and Interior Whistle Stop.

General Information

Directions: From Blacksburg, VA: Follow US 460 west for about 15 miles. Turn right on Big Stony Creek Road (SR 635). Go approximately 13 miles. Turn left onto Glen Alton Road (SR 722). Go across a small bridge and then follow the road to the right.

Activities

River and Stream Fishing

The pond at Glean Alton is stocked for trout fishing by the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources.  From April 1 through June 15 fishing is restricted to youth only.
