McClintic Point Campground


Area Status: Open

McClintic Point at Lake Moomaw sits on the northern end of the lake. Enjoy the easygoing, peaceful vibe of McClintic Point's rustic campground set among scattered trees and open fields. This angler's paradise provides plentiful shoreline fishing and some lakefront campsites. 

Boating, canoeing, water skiing and and fishing are popular activities on the lake.

Reservations: Individual campsites are first-come first-served. 
Fees: Fees are $12 per night for standard sites and $85 per night for group sites.
Open Season: April - Labor Day Weekend
Restrictions: This area has no cell phone reception. This campground has first-come, first-served sites. All equipment must fit on the space provided. Limit 3 camping units and 2 vehicles per single campsite. Additional parking is remote. No chainsaws allowed. When recreating on Forest Service Lands, follow the Forest Rules for Visitors and Forest Supervisor’s Orders

Passes: The America the Beautiful Senior and Access Pass provides a 50% discount to the base campsite fee (not hook ups). No other America the Beautiful Interagency passes are valid at this site.

From Warm Springs, Virginia take US 39 west 12 miles to state route (SR) 600, turn left (south)on SR 600. Continue 10 miles on SR 600 (2.25 miles past entrance of Bolar Flat Marina) to the McClintic Point Sign. Turn right at the McClintic Point Sign.
