Raccoon Branch Campground

Area Status: Closed

Only 11 miles from I-81 via State Route 16, this beautiful little campground is nestled at the base of Dickey Knob and adjacent to Raccoon Branch Wilderness. Raccoon Branch campground offers scenic mountain views, hiking from your campsite, and cold mountain streams. Popular for trout fishing, summer vacations, and fall foliage viewing.

Current Conditions: This site is closed for the season and is planned to reopen on April 15.
Operational Hours: Gate open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Reservations: Camping available on first-come, first-served basis.
Fees: $20 per site per night. $7 hookup fee.
Open Season: mid-April - late-November

Passes: The America the Beautiful Senior and Access Pass provides a 50% discount to the base campsite fee (not hook ups). No other America the Beautiful Interagency passes are valid at this site.

General Information

Directions: From I-81: Take Marion exit 45 onto Virginia State Route 16 South. Follow SR 16 South for approximately 13 miles to the campground on the right.
