White Rocks Campground


White Rocks Campground is in a secluded forest setting with cool summertime temperatures and great wildlife watching opportunities. A small creek meanders through several campsites and a nature trail traverses through the woods. Area highlights include Mountain Lake Wilderness, Mountain Lake, Glen Alton Day Use Area, Hanging Rock Raptor Observatory, Potts Rail Trail, Appalachian Trail, and multiple hiking opportunities.

Fees $8 per campsite per night
Open Season: April 1 through December 7
Restrictions: Water is turned off during coldest weather in April and mid-October and November.  Bring your own water if temperatures are predicted to be near or below freezing.

Water: Drinking water available except during freezing weather
Restroom: Flush toilets are available May through October. Vault toilets available April and November.

Directions: From Blacksburg, VA: Follow US 460 west for 15 miles. Turn right on SR 635. Travel 17 miles. Turn right onto SR 613. Go 0.8 miles; turn left onto entrance road. Campground is 1 mile. Total distance from Blacksburg: 35 miles.
