Reservations: Some of the sites at Wide Waters are reservable. Reservations for all of our campgrounds are made on our national recreation reservation system. Fees: Standard Non Electric Site Fee $22 Double Family, 2 camp units, per night $44 Federal Recreation Passes (Golden/America the Beautiful) are accepted.

Directions:

From Munising travel east to the intersection of M-28 and Forest Highway 13, Turn right on H-13 and drive south 11. 9 miles to FR2262. Turn right (northwest) on FR 2262 and drive 0.5 miles to the campground.

Activities

Campground Camping

There are 34 large forested, well-spaced sites affording privacy and seclusion at each camping unit. Approved drinking water pumps and vault toilets are conveniently placed throughout the campground. Tables and grills are at each site. The campground area provides an atmosphere of relaxation. There are benches along the river where one might observe the anglers or do some bird watching, and if lucky catch a lovely sunset.

Lake and Pond Fishing

Widewaters affords boat access at the site to the Indian River, 60 acre Fish Lake and several other lakes close by.

Widewaters affords boat access at the site to the Indian River, Fish Lake and several other lakes close by. The fishing for brook trout is excellent.

Day Hiking

The hiking enthusiast will find this campground an excellent home base for the 9 mile loop of Bruno's Run Hiking/Biking Trail as it winds its way through the lakes of the area and along the Indian River.

Boating - Motorized

Boat accesses are available at the campground and also up river at Fish Lake. Widewaters is an access point for the Indian River Canoe Trail.
