Soldier Lake Campground is easily accessible from M-28, which leads to some of the best sight-seeing in the Upper Peninsula and yet offers campers a remote, relaxing experience far removed from any noise of the highway. Attached to the campground are a picnic area with CCC-era picnic shelter and a swimming beach. There is also a parking area with access to the North Country National Scenic Trail. Directions:

From the intersection of M-28 and I-75 drive west on M-28 22.4 miles to Forest Road 3138. Turn left (south) on FR3138 and drive one mile to Soldier Lake Campground.
