Sand Dunes Cross-Country Ski Trail
Area Status: Open
Sand Dunes Cross-Country Ski Trail is in a great location off US 2 and Brevoort Lake Road. Sand Dunes is a complex of trail loops ranging from beginner to expert level and from one mile to several depending on the course you chose. The trail is groomed for classic style cross-country skiing.
Seven scenic trails wind through ancient dunes of Lake Michigan's past shoreline:
- Loops A through D accommodate skiers from beginner to intermediate levels.
- Loop E is more challenging with several exciting climbs and descents through the pine and hardwood forests.
- Loops F and G have steep hills and sharp turns that will prove to be a challenge for even the most advanced skier.
