The Mount Helena Ridge Trail is located only a short distance from the city of Helena, Montana and is connected to the Mount Helena City Park.  The Mount Helena Ridge Trail is 5.9 miles long. The trail begins at a trailhead near Park City, approximately 5 miles south of Helena. 

At a Glance

Restrictions: Mount Helena City Park that is adjacent to this trail prohibits the use of horses; however the Helena National Forest allows horse use on this trail.An easement or ROW is needed to cross a section of private property that the trail crosses. Please contact the forest service offices for more information when using horses.

General Information

Directions:

The Mount Helena Ridge Trail is accessible from the Mount Helena City Park and the Park City Trailhead located on the Helena National Forest.   Access the trailhead by traveling about 5 miles south of Helena on the Grizzly Gulch Road and turn west on Forest Service Road #647.


Parking:

Parking at the trailhead is limited, please do not block the turnaround.
