Pine River Campground

Area Status: Open

This is a popular campground during fishing season. Recreation opportunities include hunting, picnicking, mushroom gathering and berry picking. The picnic shelter is a Civilian Conservation Corps construction from the mid 1940's.

From Oscoda -

  • Travel north on CR-F41 for 13.2 miles.
  • Turn left and travel west on CR-F30 for 8.5 miles.
  • Turn left and travel south on Rearing Pond Trail/Forest Rd. 4121 for 3 miles.

Day Hiking

Recreation areas with activity Day Hiking:

The Pine River Rearing Run Path is a .2 mile walk within the Pine River Campground, near Kirtland's Warbler habitat.  Mushrooming and berry picking are also popular activities in this area.
