There are several motorized trails on the Manistee portion of the forests, including a section of the MCCCT. The majority of the trails are located in the southern portion of the Manistee, within driving distance of Grand Rapids and Muskegon.

There are several campgrounds located within driving distance of the trailheads; however, there are no campgrounds on the Manistee portion that have trailheads adjacent to the campgrounds.
